Meet Megan

Experienced. Certified. Supportive.

For over fiveyears, I’ve helped my clients break through the obstacles that seem to be holding them back in life. Life's too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. I am here to help my clients achieve a more positive outlook on life, take their health and fitness back into their own hands and provide them with all the tools necessary to reach their goals. Let me help you get started on your journey toward living a life you love.

Megan Holmes is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, RRCA Running Coach, Behavior Change Specialist, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Independent Team Beachbody Coach.

From fear and doubt to self-love and hell yeah.

Hi, I'm Megan and I'm so glad you've stumbled across my little corner of the Internet.  I'm a 35 year old mom of one and proud to be married to an Army man. Mike and I met as college athletes 17 years ago (yikes!) and we love staying active and are always on the go! Although I grew up as an athlete, I started leading a pretty sedentary life in my 20s, which continued until my daughter was about 4 months old.

My fitness journey began in January 2013, after I had gained over 50 pounds during infertility treatments and pregnancy. I was heavier than I had been in my entire life, I was sore from all the extra hormones in my body leftover from pregnancy and I just felt blah. Breastfeeding had helped me lose a bit of the baby weight but I didn't recognize my own body. I felt very insecure and incredibly vulnerable and I felt like I was missing out on all the things I wished I could do because I was too afraid to try and fail.

I started the Couch to 5k program with a group of ladies who were new moms as well, and we'd all meet with our babies in tow.  My daughter was almost six months old when I ran my first postpartum 5k and although it was a slow finish, I met my goal of not walking and that day lit a fire in me that has yet to go out.

This group was the first time I had ever put myself out there to lead others to help better themselves and reach their goals. I had no idea about the doors this would open for me and the people it would bring into my life. I was also suddenly dreaming of doing more races.  Could I run a 10k? A half marathon?  I remember thinking, "I'll never run a full marathon."  I've learned to never say never.

I finished my first marathon only 11 months after running my first half, and I've gone on to run more than 12 half marathons, including the Pikes Peak Ascent, and two full marathons.

It's easy to take one look at me and see my physical transformation. I mean, 55 pounds don't just disappear, you know But what I'm even more proud of is what has happened on the inside: I've gained the confidence to go after the life I want for myself.

I am doing the things I've always wanted to do, I am living a life I absolutely love and I'm not afraid to lean into the hard things.  My love of coaching and helping others inspired me to become an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Running Coach through the Road Runners Club of America. I have turned helping others achieve their health and fitness goals into my career and I wake up excited to work every single day.

While I didn't get like this overnight, it's important to remember that even the smallest change for the better is progress, and that definitely counts for something.

In courage, love and adventure,
